George Denys Tull

George Denys Tull, age 68, of Liberal, Kansas passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society Care Facility after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Denys was born on October 16, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of George Washington Tull and Emma Lou (Scott) Tull. In 1957, the family left Oklahoma and moved to Meade, Kansas. He attended Meade Elementary School until 1963 when the family moved to Liberal, Kansas. He attended Southlawn Elementary, South Junior High, and Liberal High School. While at Liberal HS, he was a member of the Redskin Band and the Stage Band, where they produced an album entitled Dark Horse. He was also in Cub Scouts Pack 43 and Boy Scout Troop 182. Denys was member of International Order of Demolay.
Following graduation, he joined the United States Army. He served in Germany in a nuclear unit during the Cold War. Upon his honorable discharge from active duty in 1976, he attended the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated in 1984 with honors. He eventually went back to OU, where he obtained his Master’s Degree in Math. Over the next few years, he would work in Houston, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati.
He returned to Liberal in 1997, where he owned and operated his own computer repair service until he became ill with lung cancer.

He is survived by 4 Brothers and 2 Sisters

Marvin Darrell Tull and his wife Kimberly of Forgan, Oklahoma, Daniel Jordan Tull and his wife Margaret of Liberal, Kansas, Stuart Douglas Tull and his wife Pepper of Beaver, Oklahoma. Louemma Wray Larman and her husband Gary of Coyle, Oklahoma and Siretta Anne Lemmons and her husband Randy of Turpin, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his paternal aunt Barbara Dressler of Noble, Oklahoma, many Nieces and Nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and cousins.

Denys was Preceded in death by his father George on December 1, 2004, and his mother Emma Lou on April 22, 2016, and Brother Freddie William Tull, on February 28, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Freddie and Siretta Scott of Jennings, Oklahoma, and his paternal grandparents; Marion and Anna Tull, also of Jennings, and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 2pm till 7pm at the Hornung Family Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 10am at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas, 67901.
Burial to follow at Restlawn Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home.
