George Richard Alexander, Jr., age 94, died June 22, 2013 at Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal, KS. He was born June 18, 1919, in Wilson, AR, the son of George Richard and Lony Appe (Lawrence) Alexander, Sr.
He attended Mt. Healthy High School in Mt. Healthy, OH. He had been a resident of the Liberal area since 1982.
He served in the Army Air Corp in 1941. He was veteran of WWII, the Korean War and the Viet Nam War. He retired from military service in 1965.
He was a member of American Legion Post #137 in Hooker, OK and Lane Day VFW Post #3166 in Liberal, KS. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Tyrone, OK.
He married Helen M. Ingle Williams at Cannon AFB, Clovis, NM on December 21st, 1988. She died October 25, 2009.

1 Step-Daughter Connie Schwartz and husband Chan Alliance, NE
1 Brother Jack Alexander and wife Margot Cincinnati, OH
1 Sister Gladys Stern Cincinnati, OH
1 Granddaughter Carla Beem and husband Tim.
He is survived by many of his Bingo Player friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Brothers Clint Travis Alexander and Gene Charles Alexander, 3 Sisters Martha Alley, Louella Nelson and Kathleen Defrance and 1 Grandson Dion Schwartz.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Liberal Cemetery, Liberal, KS with Pastor Gary Damron, Evangelical Friends Church, presiding.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
