Geneva Baxter

Geneva Baxter, age 69, of Elkhart, Kansas died May 15, 2016, at Morton County Senior Living Community in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born March 17, 1947, in Blackwell, Oklahoma the daughter of Eugene and Dorothy (Bonham) Day.
Geneva grew up in Elkhart and graduated from Elkhart High School. She furthered her education by obtaining her CDM. Geneva married Fred Baxter on July 1, 1968 in Elkhart, Kansas. She was a Certified Dietary Manager at the Morton County Care Center in Elkhart. Geneva’s family was very important to her and she enjoyed the time spent with them, and playing cards with family and friends. She attended the United Methodist Church and helped in the nursery and also with the Morton County Food Bank.
Geneva is survived by her daughter; Deborah King of Elkhart, Kansas; sisters, Bonnie Vargas of Elkhart, Kansas, Mary Jo Rick of Kirksville, Missouri; brothers, Johnny Ray Day of Alaska, Glen Day of Oregon, Manuel Day of Florida; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Fred; son, Brian Day; and brothers and sisters.
Memorial service will be held Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Elkhart, Kansas with Reverend Dennis Reimer officiating. Memorials may be given to the Geneva Baxter Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950
