Gene Robert “Bob” Olson

Gene Robert “Bob” Olson, 68, of Liberal, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at his home. He was born on December 6, 1953 to Oscar Junior Olson and Dorothy (Dotts) Olson at Liberal, Kansas. He attended school at Liberal graduating from Liberal High School in 1973.

Bob drove truck for many years with Yellow Freight. He collected coins that he gathered from different coin auctions or shows. He spent time with his sons hunting pheasant and quail in different places in southwest Kansas. In recent years, Bob enjoyed many meals with those he gathered with at the Pancake House. He loved being surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Daniel Olson and wife Jenny of Great Bend, KS and Matthew Olson of Liberal, KS; brother Gary Olson and wife Tina; three granddaughters, Destiny Olson, Kora Olson and Kaylee Juel and husband Riley; three grandsons, Austin Olson, Jeffery Spragis and Kaden Spragis and one great-grandson, Kasyn Juel.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Olson, his mother, Dorothy Olson, and two brothers, Jeff Olson and Tom Olson.

There will be no public viewing as cremation has already taken place.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 3:00pm at the Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal, KS.
