Gene and Laverne Holcomb

Gene and Laverne Holcomb went to Heaven to be together. Ruby Laverne passed away from this life April 21, 2021 and Gene Floyd passed away, April 26, 2021. They are reunited in Heaven together forever.
Gene was born May 12, 1933 to Arthur Samuel and Opal Ethel (Floyd) Holcomb in Rolla, Kansas.
Laverne was born July 21, 1933 to Charles and Marie (Brixey) Cooper in Guymon, Oklahoma.
They graduated from Rolla High School, Rolla, Kansas. Gene worked for Panhandle Eastern where he dug ditches and Laverne loved being a housewife. They both took great pride in their family and the work they did for each other.
Gene Floyd Holcomb married the love of his life Ruby Laverne Cooper in 1951 in Hough, Oklahoma. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this year. The love and life they shared was like no other, not often you saw one without the other.
They are survived by two loving sons, Steven and Chuck. Gene and Laverne enjoyed taking them on vacations around the country. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family most of all.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Holcomb, Las Vegas, NV. And Chuck Holcomb, Hugoton, KS.; brother, Jack Cooper, Tyrone, OK. And Duane Cooper, Abilene, KS.; four grandchildren, Wayne Holcomb, Calvin Holcomb, Melinda (Holcomb) Imler, and Samantha Holcomb; seven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 26, 2021, 2 PM to 8 PM, Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021, 2 PM, Rolla Cemetery, Rolla, Kansas with Pastor Marcus Light presiding.
Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton is overseeing arrangements.
