Gary Lee Pister, Sr., age 68, passed away at his home in McCamey, TX on March 8, 2024. He was born October 31, 1955, in Harvey, ND, the son of Theodore and Helen Pister.

All that met him would say Gary was a man of his word, if he told you something, he meant it. He was a hardworking, loving and very caring person. Gary had a heart of gold. He knew when to be tough on you and when to be gentle. He was a great mentor to so many throughout his life. He enjoyed his work in the oilfield, working for Patrick Well Service for 30+ years, Superior Well Service, Osborn Heirs and later retired from Scout Energy. If he wasn’t working, you would find him in his well-manicured and beautiful yard, working on projects or helping someone in need. He enjoyed the annual fishing trip with close friends and family at Lake Texoma. He loved his family more than life itself and was very proud of them. In the last weeks of his life, he requested to take a trip to see many relatives and friends. He was so grateful for the trip and all of those who came to see and called and visited with him.

Gary is survived by his wife of 26 years, Cindy Pister; brother, Ron (Terri) Pister, St. Joe, MO; 3 sisters, Connie Ensz, Bismarck ND, Ruth (Randy) Edwards, Ulysses, KS, Joann Martwick, Drake, ND; children Gary Pister Jr., Ulysses KS, Christopher (Lupe) Werlinger, Nevada, Tammy (Dexter) Koehn, Ulysses, KS, Bradley (Alicia) Pister, McCamey, TX, Theodore (Shauna) Pister, Hillsboro, KS, Kristy (Bill) Collins, Mabank, TX, Dawnielle (Jan) Evert, Ulysses, KS, Chelsea (Micheal) Pesicka, Harrisburg, SD, and Dalton Pister, Holcomb, KS; 37 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
