Frances A. Simmons

Frances A. Simmons, 88, Hugoton, KS , died Wednesday, June 8, 2011
at Stevens County Hospital, Hugoton, KS.

She was born May 5, 1923 in Seward County, KS, the daughter of
James D. & Jessie E. Lamberson.

She attended school at Superior, Antelope and the Hitch Ranch School.

Frances had a love for cooking and baking, cooking for different local
cafes for many years and at the First Christian Church for eight years.
She was a care giver for the Schonover family for eight years.

She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle, Liberal, KS .

On October 16, 1940, she married Aron N. Carpenter at Liberal, KS.
She married Hardy Simmons February 16, 1967 at Beaver, OK , he died
June 22, 1984.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Joe Carpenter , Hugoton, KS;
David Carpenter and wife Sharon, Lowell, AR; Bill Manning and wife Connie, Dodge City, KS ; six grandchildren,
fourteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and
two step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,
four brothers, four sisters, son Gary John Carpenter, grandson, Aron David Carpenter, great-grandson Joshua Barker.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 A.M. Monday at the
Faith Tabernacle, with Rev. Rex Petty presiding.

Interment will be in the Arkalon Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 4-8 P. M. Saturday
and 1-8 P.M. Sunday.
