Forest Edward “Frosty” Osborn, 74, of Hooker, Oklahoma passed away May 10, 2022, at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospice in Amarillo, Texas
Frosty was born October 31, 1947, in Liberal, Kansas the son of Wilbur V. and Maxine Fessler Osborn. He attended school in Hooker graduating from Hooker High School with the Class of 1965. After graduation he attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics in 1970.
He was married to Sandy Martin and she passed away July 31, 2017.
Frosty worked as Under Sheriff for Texas County. In 1973 he became a volunteer for the Hooker Emergency Medical Service going on the very first run. He was still a part of the EMS at the time of his death.
Frosty was united in marriage to Brenda Lowe Hill on May 4, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma.
He was Chief of Police in Hooker for many years and then served the community as City Superintendent. He volunteered on the Hooker Fire Department and had retired from that service. He served as the Emergency Management Officer for the Hooker area. He was currently the deputy Oklahoma Medical Examiner for the Panhandle of Oklahoma.
Frosty owned and operated the No Man’s Land Firearms for five years and was the President of the Hooker Historical Society.
Frosty loved his grandkids and enjoyed going fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Scott Osborn.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Osborn of the home; son, Dewaine and Jamie Osborn of Hooker; two daughters, Jeanie and Jimmy McCollom of Hooker and Cynthia Hill of Wichita, Kansas; his sister, Nancy and Louie Miller of Liberal, Kansas; four grandchildren Natalee Osborn, Kaden Osborn, Kyle and Madison Osborn, Serenity Hanna; six step grandchildren, Chelsie Waldrip, Cheyene Steele, Lacy Rodriquez, Dakota McCollom, Tyler Jourden and Cody Jourden and fifteen great grandchildren. Special friends Sherry Hanna, Tahra and Brenden.
Memorials are suggested to the Hooker EMS or the Hooker Fire Department and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma 73945
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the Hooker High School Auditorium with Pastor Mike McReynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
