Fonda Hill
Joe Denoyer - July 15, 2024 8:40 pm
Fonda Hill, 91 left this life to be with her forever Lord and Savior on Sunday, July, 14, 2024.
Fonda Adell Kelley was born on May 3, 1933 in Hammon, Oklahoma to her mother Lizzie Merle (Caffee) and her father Wiley Forrest Kelley. Fonda grew up in the Hammon community with her brother Wayne and graduated from Hammon High School in 1951.
Shortly after graduating, Fonda married Donald Oral Hill on March 25, 1952 in Temple, Texas. After relocating two or three times as their two children came along, Don and Fonda set roots down in Hooker, OK where they stayed for 30 years. Their final move was to Liberal, KS. After many years in Liberal, Fonda moved to Bartlesville, OK to be near Kendall and Valerie, where she stayed for 6 years. In 2020 she moved back to Liberal.
She and Don owned and operated “The Chuckwagon Restaurant.” at times they also managed other restaurants, and for a while were running 3 restaurants at the same time.
After losing Don in 1991, Fonda eventually sold their restaurant. She became the secretary for the Western Avenue Church of Christ for 14 years. She was a faithful church member to her three church homes in Hooker, Liberal, and Bartlesville. She made life-long friends in all three as well as to all who met her.
Fonda worked hard all her life, not completely retiring until she was 82. That did not stop her from baking for people and church functions, helping others with housework, or any need she was aware of. She just figured everyone else was too busy. She never complained. She was a card writer and sent cards for every occasion and to anyone in need. She truly had a servant heart!
She always saw the best in people, never judging – just loving. She never gave up on anyone even if they went astray or caused her pain. She believed with all her heart in the power of prayer, and she trusted in the Lord. She loved her family deeply and wanted more than anything for them to love the Lord.
Fonda is preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents and one brother; Wayne Kelley and her daughter Cindy Agee.
She is survived by her son: Kendall Hill and wife Valerie. Her six grandchildren : Nathan Hill, Amy (Agee) Sieman, Angie (Hill) Schneider and husband Chad, Melody (Agee) Clifton & husband Dan, Levi Hill and Tyler Agee. She is also survived by 17 great- grandchildren , 5 great-great grandchildren and many foster children, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and many, many friends.

The last stanzas from a poem her daughter Cindy wrote about her in 2004 sums up Fonda Hill:
“She gives until it hurts,
And that is not a joke.
How far for us she’d go
Would be impossible to know.
She cannot be described by a
poem or a song.
Her qualities cannot be listed;
they simply are too long.”
Memorial contributions may be made in Fonda’s memory to Hope Harbor Children’s Home C/O Hope Harbor, PO BOX 1047 CLAREMORE, OK 74018 or to The American Cancer Society.
