Floydene B. Leis, age 97, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She was born July 13, 1924, at Fowler, Kansas, the daughter of Floyd and Violet (Mendenhall) Barger. As a young girl, she attended school in Fowler, graduating from Fowler High School in 1942.

In 1944, she married Ralph Husmann. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Fowler for several years. While in Fowler, she began her career in banking working for the Fowler State Bank and later for the First National Bank of Dodge City as the Assistant Vice President for many years. After her retirement she volunteered her time at the Western Plains Regional Medical Center in Dodge City.

In 1952, her husband Ralph passed away. On December 26, 1970, she married Ivan Clarence Leis. He passed away February 24, 2017.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Daughters of Isabelle. She enjoyed crafts, reading, working puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter Cynthia Lampe and husband Leander of Mustang, Oklahoma; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Husmann and Ivan Leis; parents; and two sister, Pauline and Fern.

Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday June 10, 2022, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Fowler. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the church. Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery.

The family would welcome memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
