Floyd “Bud” Wayne Kistler, 83, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at his daughter’s house in South Hutchinson, KS, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 18, 1936 in Florence, CO, the son of Jack and Irma (Woolery) Kistler.
He graduated from Johnson High School in 1955. He married Phyllis Carrithers on June 16, 1957 in Johnson City, KS at Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church. He worked for the City of Johnson for over 30 years, retiring in 2001. He served 51 years with the Johnson/Stanton County Fire Department and served as Chief after the passing of his father.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Phyllis (Carrithers) Kistler; one daughter Donna (Frank) Patton of South Hutchinson, KS; three grandchildren Paul (Heather) Mitchell of Amarillo, TX; Misty Isley of Hutchinson, KS; Rochelle (Jeff) Harmony of Hutchinson, KS; four great-grandchildren Bryce and Breckyn Isley and Braelyn and Jace Harmony all of Hutchinson, KS; two sisters Velma (Zach) McDaniel and Dollie Glasscock; one brother Kenny (Pat) Kistler; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother George, his daughter Dian and granddaughter Vanessa.
His funeral will be held at Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church in Johnson City, KS on Tuesday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Kurt Rovenstine presiding. Burial will follow at Stanton County Cemetery. The viewing will be held at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson City, KS on Monday July 22 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with family present from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The family requests memorials be made to Hospice and Home Care of Reno County or Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, 605 W.
