Floyd A. Chenoweth

Floyd A. Chenoweth, age 93, of Johnson, Kansas died Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson, Kansas. He was born January 19, 1920 in Bunker Hill, Kansas, the son of Ira and Pearl (Meharg) Chenoweth.

Floyd was a wheat farmer. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. On May 18, 1947, he married Girtha M. Branam. Floyd was a member of the Johnson Rotary Club and a member of the VFW Post #3684.

Survivors include his wife, Girtha of their home; one son, John M. Chenoweth and wife Deanna of Georgetown, Texas; one daughter, Annetta M. Young and husband Rick of Derby, Kansas; one grandson, Matthew A. Young of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother, Dean Chenoweth and wife Ella Fern of Haviland, Kansas; one sister, Terri Snyder and husband Harold of La Habra, California.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Gladys Schmidt; and two sisters, Audrey Ellis and Kitty Leffer.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson, Kansas with Pastor Richard Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas with military rites conducted by VFW Post #3684. Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church or American Heart Association both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855.
