Fidel Porras

Fidel Porras, age 78, died Monday, August 2, 2021, at his home in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born March 28, 1943, in Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Pablo and Lazara (Moncayo) Porras.

Fidel grew up in Mexico and married Margarita Carrillo in 1978. They moved to Ulysses in 1995 and he had worked at Tarbet Construction. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, extended family members, and his animals.

Fidel is survived by his wife, Margarita of their home; children, Samuel Porras and Elida Porras both of Ulysses; and six grandchildren.

Fidel is preceded in death by his siblings, Sixto Porras, Trinidad Porras, Dora Porras, and Isabel Porras.

Vigil and Rosary Service will be Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 7:30 PM and Funeral Mass will be Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 10:00 AM both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Charles Seiwert officiating. Funeral mass will be also be streamed live on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
