Fermin Ascencio Sr.

Fermin Ascencio Sr., 42, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at his home in rural Seward County.

He was born October 28, 1971 at Agua Negra Guanajuato, Mexico, the son of Dario and Petra (Gutierrez) Ascencio.

He married Hortencia Martinez in April 1997 at Liberal, KS. She survives.

Fermin moved to Liberal KS from Mexico when he was 18 years old. He had worked for various construction companies specializing in building and concrete work.

His survivors include his parents, four sons – Pedro Ascencio of Turpin, OK; Angel Ascencio of Turpin, OK; Fermin Ascencio Jr. of Turpin, Ok and Sergeo Martinez of Liberal, KS; two daughters- Selena Martinez of Liberal, KS and Aracely Ascencio of Liberal, KS; four grandchildren; four brothers – Miguel Ascencio, Esteban Ascencio, Ignacio Ascencio and Benedito Ascencio; three sisters – Silvia Ascencio, Maria Ascencio and Eva Ascencio.

He was preceded in death by three brothers – Martin Ascenio, Manuel Ascencio and an infant brother.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
