Esther Lavern Ellis

Esther Lavern Ellis, 94, of Amarillo, TX died November 2, 2020 after a
short illness.
She was born Dec. 8, 1925 to Earl John Ellis and Lola May Thomas Ellis
at their home in Stevens County.
She worked for many years as a nurse and a home healthcare nurse. In the
early 1950’s, she was terminally ill with tuberculosis but was healed by
God in a tent meeting conducted by Oral Roberts. Her greatest joy was
giving her testimony of the healing and singing spiritual songs with her
long-time best friend, Melba.
Survivors include daughter, LaTricia Casteel, Amarillo, Texas; sisters:
Doris Harnden, Colorado Springs, Eunice Welch, Falls Church, Va., and
Avis Brown, Liberal; grandson, Shawn Rimple; great-grandchildren: Evan
Rimple, Ethan Rimple, Jase Rimple and Jayden Rimple; and many other
family and friends.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Arthur Taylor and Roger
Coker; her parents; grandson, Ryan Rimple; sisters, Lilian Massey and
Ella Pennington; and brothers, Eldon Ellis and Harold Ellis.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, September
10, 2021 at the Liberal City Cemetery with Pastor Rex Petty officiating.
