Ester R. Montes

Ester R. Montes, age 64, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born August 29, 1956, in Brownsville, Texas, the daughter of Manuel and Fidela (Camacho) Ramos.

Ester grew up in Texas. She married Hector Montes on December 18, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her hobbies included travelling, dancing and going to the Casino. She enjoyed spoiling her kids and grandkids and helping others in need. There was never a dull moment around Ester, she could make anyone around her smile and laugh. Ester attended Templo Emmanuel Church in Ulysses.

Ester is survived by her husband, Hector of the home; son, Frank Espinosa and wife Lorena of Killeen, Texas; daughters, Christine Ruiz and husband Alonso of Ulysses, Kansas; Veronica Garcia and husband David of Killeen, Texas, and Patricia Servantez and husband Remegio of Garden City, Kansas; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; ten brothers; six sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ester is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Eduardo, Ramon, Jose, Manuel and Martin Ramos.

Funeral service will be Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Templo Emmanuel Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Pastor George Devora officiating. Services may also be viewed live on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Page. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 5, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
