Ella Mae Ellis Pennington 88, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. She was born March 9, 1928 in Stevens County the daughter of Earl John and Lola May (Thomas) Ellis. She graduated in 1945 from Haviland High School Haviland, KS and she had attended Seward County Community College. She had been employed at the Rice Food Market in the HR Department and also Century 21 Kaleidoscope Real estate. She was a member of the First Christian Church DoC, Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and the Liberal Noon Lions Club.
On April 4, 1991 she married Orvin V. Pennington in Liberal, KS. He died Aug 28, 2001.

4 Grandchildren Tom Shaw, of San Diego, CA; Matt Shaw, of Sumner, WA; Stacy Ward, of Seattle, WA; Russell Melanson, of St. Cloud, MN

She was preceded in death by parents; son Charles “Charlie” Earl DeRome; brothers Eldon Ellis and Harold Ellis; sister Lillian Earlene Massie; grandchildren Justin English DeRome, Rosella DeRome, and John Frederick DeRome.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, at the First Christian Church DOC, with Pastor Terry Ford presiding. Burial will be held at Liberal Cemetery.
