Elizabeth (Toots) Allison

Elizabeth (Toots) Allison, age 91, of Manter, Kansas died Friday, October 26, 2012 at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson, Kansas. She was born October 18, 1921 in Fargo, Oklahoma, the daughter of Alva J. and Susie R. (Thomas) McCandless.
Toots attended school in Oklahoma until the sixth grade when her family moved to Selah, Washington. She married Forrest C. Adams on August 13, 1938 in Selah, Washington. They moved to Manter in 1941. Forrest died on June 5, 1980. Toots was a school bus driver for 30 years, a bookkeeper and Manter City Clerk. On October 4, 1987, she married A.C. Allison in Manter. He died on December 28, 2010. Toots was a member of the Manter United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Fred Lee Adams and wife Janet of Larned, Kansas, Forrest Eugene Adams and wife Romona of Hugoton, Kansas, Gary Leon Adams and wife Betty of Manter, Kansas; three sisters, Opal Hammond of Syracuse, Kansas, Fern Wait and husband Roy of Springfield, Colorado, Martha Adams and husband Wayne of Manter, Kansas; eight grandchildren, JoLores Karabatsos of Jersey City, New Jersey, Vernell and Randy Major of Hays, Kansas, Michelle Dunnagan of Hays, Kansas, Kyle and Rita Adams of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Teresa and Richard Carter of Elkhart, Kansas, Jeanine and Alfonso Olivas of Coppell, Texas, John and Kirsten Adams of Amarillo, Texas, Amy and Kerry Kelm of Plainview, Texas; 14 great-grandchildren, Natalie and Matt Brown, Melanie and Jeff Till, Brenton Major, Raynell Major, Dakota Dunnagan, Lauren Carter, Brendon Carter, Shayla Adams, Birgen Adams, Clayton Adams, Ian Olivas, Addyson Olivas, Isla Olivas, Allen Kelm; and four great-great-grandchildren, A.J. Brown, Avery Brown, Aeris Till, and Freya Till.
Toots is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Forrest Adams; husband, A.C. Allison; two half-brothers, Vern Tieman, Clyde Folkers; and one half-sister, Pearl Crane.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Manter United Methodist Church in Manter, Kansas with Pastor Will Kenyon officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Friends may call Monday, October 29, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
