Elida (Franco) Fowler, age 60, died Friday, April 17, 2020, at her home in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born April 13, 1960, in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Armando and Aurora (Sanchez) Franco.
Elida grew up in southwest Kansas and graduated from Ulysses High School. She married Jeff Fowler on June 22, 2002, in Ulysses. Elida enjoyed her time as a Sunday School Teacher and Missionetts Teacher, baking, cooking, and reading. She was a librarian in Lakin for several years, and had recently been a teller at Bank of Ulysses for 20 years. Elida’s nieces and nephews were very special to her and she knew how to make each of them feel very special.
Elida is survived by her husband, Jeff of their home; brothers, Pastor Israel Franco and wife Delaine of Hugoton, Pastor Rafael Franco and wife Ludi of Lakin, her twin brother, Mike Franco, Homer Franco and wife Mavi, and Eddie Franco and wife Jean all of Ulysses; sisters, Mandy Franco of Ulysses, and Olivia Salsedo and husband Felix of Garden City; sisters-in-law, Ene Franco of Monett, Missouri, Catherine Fowler of Ulysses, and Melissa Gantney of Spokane, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elida is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Santos Franco.
A private family memorial service will be Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Oasis Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Pastor Rafael Franco officiating. Oasis Church will offer live streaming on their facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Cancer Center of Kansas in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W.
