Eleanor Sneyd

Eleanor Louise (Smith) Sneyd, 94, Ulysses, KS, died on Saturday,  June 23, 2018 at The Legacy at Parkview in Ulysses, KS.

She was the daughter of Clarence McKinley and Blanche Gertrude (Chess) Smith.  She was born on June 6, 1924 in Fresno, California.  She was raised in Fresno and went to school there.

Eleanor and Herbert Bouton Sneyd were married on February 6, 1946 in Fresno, California.  To this union they had three children Kenneth, Nancy and Sally Ann.

She was active member of the Church of Christ.

Eleanor was a devoted wife and mother, faithful friend, loyal worker, and all around good citizen. She worked as a volunteer Librarian and enjoyed helping the kids and anyone that needed help in the library. She was presented with the Honorary Life Membership Award.

Survivors include, a son, Kenneth Sneyd & wife Debbie, Ulysses, KS.; two daughters, Nancy Summers & husband Stephen, Portland, OR., Sally Ann Rogers & husband Sam, Fresno, CA.; Sister in law, Mary Smith, Salinas, CA., four grandchildren, Heather Downing, Holly Cabuhat, Kaleb Sneyd, Calista Curl; six  great grandchildren Ashtyn  and Alanina Garms, Logan and Liam Downing, Wyatt Sneyd, Mila Cabuhat and may relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herbert, and her brother Eugene Smith and a sisters Phyllis Drake, a brother in law, Lew Drake.

Memorials have been established for Shriners Hospital for children or Yosemite Bible Camp.  Memorials may be mailed to Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home- 218 S. Main St., Ulysses, KS 67880.

The family will be having a Memorial Service on July 14, 2018 at 2 PM at The Church of Christ, Ulysses, KS with Pastor Warren Baldwin presiding.

Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home, Ulysses is in charge of arrangements.
