Eileen Cantrell

Eileen Cantrell, age 87, of Ulysses, Kansas died Wednesday, February 02, 2011 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born August 12, 1923 in rural Grant County, Kansas, the daughter of Robert O. and Hazel Hallene (Hoffman) Cantrell.

Eileen was a lifelong resident of Ulysses and graduated from Grant County Rural High School. She attended Anderson College in Indiana and Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. She taught school at Red Rock Grade School and Pioneer County School. She later worked at Cantrell Pharmacy. Eileen was a member of the Patterson Avenue Church of God. She taught Sunday school for over fifty years and was also a founding and active member of the Missions Board.

Survivors include sisters-in-law, Barbara Cantrell of Ulysses, Kansas, Georgia Cantrell of El Paso, Texas; ten nieces and nephews, Tim and Terri Cantrell, Rod and Jana Trebelcock, Brad and Marilyn Jones all of Ulysses, Kansas, Don and Robyn Heerlein of Vancouver, Washington, Ron and Dana Kruse of Caruthers, California, Rick and Marva Adams of Hillsboro, Oregon, Greg Cantrell of Portland, Oregon, Cindy and Greg Douglas of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Denise Cantrell of Lakewood, Colorado, Jon and Lisa Cantrell of Midland, Texas; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

Eileen is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert A., Glenn, and Donald; sister, Dorothy Jones; and nephew, Steven Glenn Cantrell.

Visitation: 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, February 04, 2011 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 05, 2011 at Patterson Avenue Church of God in Ulysses with Reverend Earl Heath Jr. officiating.

Interment: Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas.
