Edwin Eugene “Gene” Eagan

Edwin Eugene “Gene” Eagan 79, died, Sunday at his residence in Liberal, KS,
He was born Nov. 2, 1935 at Englewood, CO. the son of Charles Edwin and Dora Gladys (Ward) Eagan.
He graduated from Forgan High School in Forgan, OK. In 1953 he joined the US Air Force and was stationed at James Connaley Air Force Base in Waco, TX for eight and half years being discharged in 1962. In 1963 he moved to Liberal, KS. He had been employed at Liberal Truck Service as the Parts Manager for 9 years, and had also been employed at Fairmont- Truck Parts as a Salesman and Blakely Crop Ins and a Crop Adjuster. He also had farmed on the family farm.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #80.
He was in the US Air Force from 1953 to 1962 during the Korean & Viet-Nam Era.
On May 12, 1956 he married Willie Mae Skopik in Waco Texas. She survives

11 Grandchildren Rusty and Ryan Klitzke; Jeremy, Carissa and Ila Chappell; Joshua Meek; Eddy VanVleet, Kelli Van Vleet Roberts and Kaitlyn VanVleet; Shannon Beer and Shawna Beer Quint.

9 Great Grand Children

He is preceded in death by his Parents.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father James P. Dieker and Rev. Rex Petty presiding. Burial will be held at Liberal Cemetery.

Visitation Time will be 1 to 8pm Tuesday with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 8pm at Brenneman Funeral Home.
