Edna Stannard Reeves, 75, of Liberal. KS passed away Wednesday, April 13th at home surrounded by her loving family.
Edna was born in Oneida, NY to the late Alfred and Leona (Covert) Stannard and raised in Munnsville, NY.
She served in the United States Air Force and the Kansas Army National Guard. Edna moved to Southwest Kansas in the early 1970s and lived there for the remainder of her life. Edna was the founder, proprietor, and chief operations officer of Mom’s House. Mom’s House went through 3 expansions and several location changes over the years. When she franchised the concept, she changed the name of the original to Grandma’s House. Edna prided herself on making her house a home everyone was comfortable in. She always welcomed any strays the boys brought home over the years, whether the strays were two or four legged.
She is survived by her 4 sons, Clarence (Janice) of Dudley, NC, Tim (Bonnie) of Forgan, OK, Billy (Pam) of Liberal, KS, Eddie of Liberal KS, her brother Peter (Charlette) of Munnsville, NY and sister Virginia (Jackie) of Syracuse, NY. She also is survived by her grand children Maci, Alexis, Ethan, Adrian, Dominic, Alexus, Hailey, Dakota and her many honorary grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 32 years Clarence “Bubber” Reeves.
Cremation was entrusted to Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Calvary Mennonite Church at 831 S. New York Ave. in Liberal. Flowers and cards can be sent to 109 W. Pine Street, Liberal, KS.
