Earlene Williams

Earlene Williams, age 80, of Rolla, Kansas died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. She was born March 13, 1933 in Rolla, Kansas, the daughter of Earl Roger and Beva Roxanna (Bartley) Ipson.

Earlene was a lifetime resident of Rolla. She married Perry A. Williams on July 21, 1951 in Rolla at the United Methodist Church. Earlene enjoyed music and was an accomplished pianist. She also enjoyed working crosswords and taking her granddaughters for car rides.

Survivors include sons, Brian Williams and wife Socorro of Amarillo, Texas, Jack Williams of Rolla, Kansas, Greg Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Sue Anne Villarreal and husband Roy of Wichita, Kansas; brothers, James Ipson and wife Mary Lou of Surprise, Arizona, Louis Ipson of Mulvane, Kansas; sister, Eileen Firmin of Mesquite, Texas; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ipson of Elkhart, Kansas; and four granddaughters, Monica Williams, Kelly Anne Wood, Lauren and Ashley Villarreal.

Earlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Perry on January 3, 1995; brother, Earl Roger Ipson; brother-in-law, Duane Firmin; sister-in-law, Peg Ipson; and nephews, Phillip Firmin and Richard Ipson.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Rolla, Kansas with Pastor Sandy Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at the Rolla Cemetery in Rolla, Kansas. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart, Kansas. The family requests memorials may be given to the Rolla Hope Project in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
