Earl M. Young, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, May 26, 2014.
Earl was born February 25, 1932, at Townsend, Montana, the son of Henry and Mattie (Spoonemoore) Young. Earl married Josie “Pearl” Veach on October 22, 1954. They made their home in Meade, Kansas, raising five children. Earl worked at many things including the Co-Op Elevator for seven years and in the oilfield before and after that.
Earl’s passion and best friend was is wife for fifty-six years. They enjoyed hunting, fishing, cards, “Kismet” and many other things. But most of all they enjoyed family. Earl leaves his legacy of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to this children, grand and great-grandchildren; the richest blessing any parent could leave.
Preceding Earl in death were his precious wife in 2010; parents, twin brother, Ernest; four sisters, Grace, Ruth, Helen and Joyce; twin sons, Danny and Stephen; a grandson, Jade Foster; and a granddaughter, QuaFerley.
He is survived by a son, Mark Young and wife Trena of Hinsdale, New Hampshire; four daughters, Sandra Foster and husband Brad of Meade, Sherry Weber and husband Richard of Fowler, Kansas, Sonya Padgett and husband Larry of Fowler, and Shannon Couse of Meade. Eleven grandchildren, Steven Young of Barre, Vermont, Teresa Young of Battleboro, Vermont, Sheila Dominque of Wilmington, Vermont, Amanda Young of Hinsdale, New Hampshire, Josh Foster of Raleigh, North Carolina, Quianne Davis of Meade, Will Padgett of Plains, Kansas, Christi Doney of Meade, Sheleighja Couse of Omaha, Nebraska, Amber Couse of Meade, Troy Couse of Meade. Seventeen great-grandchildren, Anthony Schmidt of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Tailan Schmidt of Meade, Charlotte, Carissa and Elliot Young of Barre, Vermont, Silas and Addison Domique, Cotie and Eben White of Wilmington, Vermont, Bractyn Couse, Talon Mein, Keagan Mein, Trevin Mein of Omaha, Joslyn Helu of Meade, Maya, Olivia and Ella Doney of Meade, Jordy and Kinsley Padgett of Plains. Three step great-grandchildren, Ethan and Derik Davis of Amarillo, Texas, and Aron Davis of Meade.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas, with Minister Brad Foster and Pastor Bob Deacon presiding. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
The family would welcome memorials to the Beam Senior Center or the Cancer Center of Kansas in care of the funeral home.
