Earl Wayne Semmel, 87, of Forgan, OK passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS.
He was born on November 29, 1934 to Jacob and Rachel (Meier) Semmel at Woodward, OK.
On January 18, 1953 he married Rilla Pitcher at the Woodward, OK Baptist Church.
Earl was a graduate of Tangier, OK High School; class of 1953. He worked at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. for 15 years from 1957 to 1972. Earl was a Farmer Rancher and loved working his land! In his younger years he enjoyed playing basketball while in Tangier, OK and also played on the Forgan, OK Town League; he also enjoyed stock car racing. Earl was a loving father and husband who supported his children and grandchildren throughout all of their life events. He was a member of the Bethel Church of God.
Earl is survived by his loving wife, Rilla, Two Daughters, Rae Bates and husband Sonny of Alva, OK, Earlene Newby and husband Dan of Gate, OK; Two Sons, Terry Semmel and wife Elizabeth of West Lafayette, IN, Larry Semmel and wife Sherrol of Coffeyville, KS; 11 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
There will be no public viewing and the casket will be closed.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, 10:00 am at the Forgan United Methodist Church in Forgan, OK with Stan Lehnert, officiating.
Burial will be 2:30 pm at the Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward. OK.
