Earl Lee Seger age 54, of Ulysses, Kansas died Saturday, May 30, 2015 in rural Grant County, Kansas; with his wife, Charla. He was born December 21, 1960 in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Robert A. and E. Ruth (Michael) Seger.
Earl was a maintenance supervisor at Columbian Chemicals. He graduated from Ulysses High School, attended Goodland Vo-Tech and one year at Ricks College on a wrestling scholarship. Earl married his sweetheart, Charla Neff on August 12, 1982 in the LDS Temple in Mesa, Arizona. Earl was the creator of Ernie’s Metal Art. He had a huge heart but never wanted others to know. He worked hard but played even harder with his grandkids. His love for motorcycles ran deep, but his love for eternal families even deeper.
Earl is survived by his children, Brittany Knapmiller and husband Scott of Ulysses, Kansas, Ryan Earl Seger and wife Danielle of DeWitt, Michigan, Whitney Goff and husband Sawyer of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Riley Shawn Seger of Ulysses, Kansas; brothers, Robert E. Seger of Johnson, Kansas, Merl Seger and wife Leasa of Ulysses, Kansas, Verl Seger and wife Lori of Richmond, Texas; sisters, Karen Clyde and husband Fred of Hurricane, Utah, Bobbie Seger of Johnson, Kansas, Cheryl Hale and husband Ron of Johnson, Kansas, Kathy Mortenson and husband Mel of Rexburg, Idaho; and five grandchildren Max, Lexi, Lenyx, Colt, and Tessa.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tessa; brother, Mark Allan Seger; and sister-in-law, Sandi Seger.
Everyone is welcome at the funeral service for Earl, to be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 5, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ulysses, Kansas with Bishop Carl Egley officiating. Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, and Friday, June 5th from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Earl and Charla Seger Grandchildren Education Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
