Dwight William Doud, 74, of Liberal, passed away on Thursday August 26, 2021 at the Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, CO.
He was born on February 5, 1947 to Claudie and Evelyn (Taylor) Doud at Hardtner, KS.
Dwight was a graduate of Capron High School in Capron, OK; class of 1965. He went on to obtain his degree in Pottery from Southwest OSU in Weatherford, OK. He served as an SP4 in the US Army stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Dwight enjoyed throwing clay pots and served as a Pottery Instructor at Southwestern College and Seward County Community College. He worked as the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor for USD480 for 20 years before retiring in 2012. Dwight enjoyed fishing and competing in fishing tournaments, camping, dancing, giving his friends and family a ‘hard time”, and enjoying an ice cold beer with friends. He was also an avid OU fan! Dwight was a member of Liberal VFW Post 3166.
Dwight is survived by his Daughter, Lisa Sagaser and husband Joshua of Kansas City, MO; Three Brothers, Lawrence Doud and wife Sheryl of Wichita, KS, Eldon Doud of Capron, OK, Marvin Doud and wife Susan of Ringwood, OK, Two Granddaughters, Evelyn R Doud and Jeorjia Sagaser; Long time Friend & Caregiver Connie Jordan of Liberal, KS; Several Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday September 11, 2021 at the Liberal VFW.
