Dorothy Mae Hancock Angell, 99, of Benson, North Carolina died Sept. 28, 2021, at home.

A service will be held at Foundations Bible Collegiate Church on October 2, 2021, 11:00 am and a graveside service in Plains, Kansas handled by Fidler-Orme Bachman Mortuary in Meade Kansas on October 7, 2021.

She is the wife of the late Rev. Leland C. Angell of Kansas. Miss Dorothy was born in Jackson Mississippi October 22,1921 to Walter and Gladys (Mahaffey) Hancock. She graduated from high school in Jackson, Mississippi and went to Washington DC in 1941 to work for the Navy Department. She met Leland Angell in Washington DC and they were married on Jan. 31, 1942. They began their journey together at the beginning of WWII as Leland was deployed overseas. After the war they attended several colleges and ministered at a variety of pastorates in Kansas, Texas, Missouri, Mississippi and Colorado. Dorothy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986 from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

She loved her family, writing poetry, painting and had a love for learning. Through the years her love for the Lord has grown and deepened.

She is survived by son Leland Lynn Angell and wife Linda, son-in-law Howard Tiffany, daughter Marsha Hyman and husband Ken, daughter Larinda Fuchs and husband Richard, son Ed Angell and wife Shelly. She has 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Leland Chester Angell and daughter Jeanne Faye Tiffany.
