Dorothy L. (Dotty) Alvarado, age 89, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 28, 2019, at her Fowler, Kansas, residence.
She was born February 19, 1930, at Fowler, Kansas, the daughter of Frederick P. and Delcie (Hudsbeth) Wells. As a young girl, she attended school in Fowler, graduating from Fowler High School. She later attended beauty school in Dodge City, Kansas. A longtime resident of Fowler, she was a hairdresser and a certified nurses aide.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, both of Fowler. Dotty enjoyed her dogs, horses, fishing, dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
On September 22, 1979, she married Frank Alvarado at Canoga Park, California. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Danny Mahieu (Kathy) of Fowler; three daughters, Diana Loring (Jim) of California, Donna Marrs (Duke) and Melissa Waters (Shane), both of Fowler; three brothers, Fred Wells, Jr. (Elia) of Fowler, Jim Griffith (Caren) of California, and Jerry Griffith (Barb) of Florida; eleven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren,
She is preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Irene Wells; and two brothers, William Wells, and James Thurman.
In accordance to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
