Dorothy Jean Hoover

Dorothy Jean Hoover passed away at Dove Estates Memory Haven in Goddard, Ks on September 19, 2020.

She was born December 7, 1927 in Dodge City, Ks to parents Elbert and Lois (Hantla) Harris.

Dorothy enjoyed needlework, knitting and crocheting; gifting several items to her children and grandchildren.

She was an accomplished bowler and traveled to tournaments throughout the United States.

Dorothy was a partner in the Harris/Hoover Dairy in Meade. After closing the dairy, she worked as a bookkeeper.

She was a member of the Meade United Methodist Church.

Dorothy married Richard Hoover on February 16, 1946 in Meade, Ks. After Richard’s death June 7, 1986, Dorothy married Elsworth Hoover on January 8, 1993.

Surviving children include Beverly (Bob) Kernohan, Whitesboro, Tx; Marilyn (Mike) Walter, Wichita; Sharon (Jim) Keltner, Minneola and Jacque (Jeff) Ediger, Caldwell. Dorothy leaves 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and Elsworth’s grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Norman and John and husbands Richard and Elsworth.

Private family memorial graveside services will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

The family welcomes memorials to Meade Methodist Church or Dove Estates Memory Haven in Goddard.

Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
