Dorothy Jean Bartel 82, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2015 In Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was born July 27, 1933 to Joe and Vlasta (Pulpan) Purer in Booker, Texas.
She married Van Bartel on Feb. 22, 1952 in Clayton, N.M. He preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2012.
She graduated from Booker High School in Booker, Texas.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm and ranch in Balko, Okla.
She was a member of the Booker Christian Church in Booker, Texas.
She enjoyed traveling and camping and was a member of the Happy Campers Club for more than 20 years.
Survivors include son, Audie Bartel and wife, Karla, Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Alice Eccles and husband, Russell, Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren: Shanna Jones and husband, Josh, Bryant, Ark., Becky Pauley, Vinton, Va., Colton Bartel and wife, Morgan, Corpus Christi, Texas and Quinton Bartel, Corpus Christi, Texas; six great-grandchildren: Brooklyne Francisco, Caleb Cunningham, Kate and Addison Jones, Bailee Pauley, and London Bartel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Bartel; and brother, Joe Ed Purer.
• Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at the Booker Christian Church in Booker, Texas with Pastors Chuck Lightfoot and Ryan Riley presiding.
Burial of the cremains will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at the Mennonite Church Cemetery in Balko, Okla.
