Doris Marjorie Mann, 93, of Tyrone, Oklahoma passed away April 14, 2018 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas.
Doris was born October 20, 1924 on the family homestead west of Tyrone, Oklahoma the daughter of Charles and Katherine Storms Stevens. She grew up on the farm and attended rural school at Buena Vista and then attended Tyrone School graduating from Tyrone High School with the Class of 1943.
On August 30, 1942 in Liberal, Kansas, Doris was united in marriage to Charles Lee “Chizel” Mann. They made their first home in El Paso, Texas where Chizel was stationed in the Army Air Corps. They then move to Tyrone and never left.
Doris was Pioneer Day Queen in 2012. She enjoyed sewing clothes for and taking care of her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Chizel on April 20, 2006; her daughter, Kathryn Olney; five sisters, Gladys Rist, Elmo Compton, Florence Ann Crist, Mildred Woodward, Maxine Cain; four brothers, Bruce Stevens, Dale Stevens, Curtis Stevens, Jim Stevens; step great grandson, Zackary McBee.
Members of the family are her three daughters, Charlotte and Grant Hatfield of Guymon, Oklahoma, Janet and Russ McBee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Stephanie and Mark Clancy of Tyrone, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Lee Hatfield, Aaron Hatfield, Mandy Martin, Lance Olney, Robin Wohletz, Bryce Clancy, Matthew Clancy; two step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Tyrone Baptist Church in Tyrone, Oklahoma. Interment will be in the Tyrone Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
