Donald W. Hall, 84, died September 20, 2011 at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born August 27, 1927, in Hopeton, OK , the son of Clyde and Iva Murrow Hall. He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, Alva, OK, had received his Bachelor of Education Degree from Northwestern State, Alva, OK, and his Master’s Degree from Colorado University. He was a teacher and coach at Rolla, KS. He was a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent of schools at Liberal, retiring in 1990 after 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Hutchinson and spent his winters in south Texas. He served in the United States Navy during WW II. He married Millie Guin on April 9, 1950 in Alva, OK. They have been married for 61 years.
Survivors include his wife, of the home, 2 sons, Lary Hall (Debbie), Hutchinson and Monte Hall (Lori), Grapevine, TX, 2 brothers, Eldon and Dale Hall, both of Oklahoma City, OK, and 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Nathan, Kimberly, Alex, Ivy, and Lily.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Max and Delbert Hall.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson, with Pastor Mike Weaver presiding. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Visitation will be held from 9AM to 9PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or Hospice House, in care of the funeral home.
