Donald “Don” Tomlin

Donald “Don” Tomlin 88, died, Wednesday May 14, 2014 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, KS
He was born June 17, 1925 in Wanette, Oklahoma the son of Lyman and Lillian (Taylor) Tomlin. He graduated from Wanette High School in 1943. Then in June of 1943 he enlisted in the US Army and served in WWII stationed in New Guinea and the Philippines and was discharged in Jan of 1946. In September of 1946 he enrolled at the University of Kansas and graduated in 1950. In Dec. of 1950 he joined the US Air Force and served during the Korean War Conflict until Dec. of 1954. After his discharge from the US Air Force he was employed as a staff accountant with Barlett Settle & Edgerle of Hutchinson, KS. In 1967 he was transferred to Liberal, KS to help establish a branch office. In 1973 the branch office was sold and became Godfrey & Hay Chartered and which is now Hay Rice and Associates Charted. After his retirement he continued to work part time for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Charles Edward Tomlin, 2 sisters Margaret Tomlin and twin sister Delores Clarkson.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 19, 2014 at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Odle presiding. Burial of the cremains will take place at later date.
In lieu of flowers and plant memorial contributions may be sent to the Salvation Army in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, Kansas 67901.
