D’Lois Joan “Jo Nana” Velasquez, 71, died on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.
She was born September 7, 1946 in Russell, Ks to Ernest William and Agnes Joy (Matheson) Miller.
She graduated from Turpin High School, Turpin, Ok in 1964.
She worked for Dillion’s Food Stores as a Pharmacy Clerk for many years until her retirement.
Jo enjoyed cooking, baking, and reading. She operated Nana’s Goodies for several years. She was a 2 time cancer survivor, and was active in Relay for Life. She was a supporter of the SCCC and Liberal Bee Jays.
She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include:
1 Son Frank Velasquez and wife Korinna Andrews, TX
1 Daughter Cindy Harper and husband Rod Liberal, KS
1 Sister-in-law Leona Miller Turpin, OK.
Grandchildren, Heather, Dakota, Robbie, Eddie, and Kylar Velasquez, and Zac Moon and wife, Karleigh, and Morgan Brown and husband, Ryan. Great Grandchildren Hunter, Beckett, and Jovi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 Brothers Delmar Miller and Keith Miller, 1 Sister-in-law Linda Miller, and son-in-law David Gilmore.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Liberal Friends Church, 1650 N. Western Avenue, Liberal, KS. Burial will follow in the Liberal Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Wednesday at the Liberal Friends Church, 1650 N. Western Avenue, Liberal, KS.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society in care of the Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
