Ira DeWayne Ehrhardt was born February 5, 1954 in Guymon, Ok the son of Ira and Jane Froelich Ehrhardt. DeWayne was a lifelong resident of Hooker where he attended Hooker schools and graduating from Hooker High School with the Class of 1972. He attended Panhandle State University in 1976. DeWayne was united in marriage to Sharon Griffin, the love of his life.
DeWayne worked for many years at Schaapveld Oil Co., Hooker Public School as director of maintenance for the physical plant and automotive equipment. He currently taught school at the Juvenile Detention Center in Hooker, drove school bus and was on the City Council and served the Hooker Community as Mayor.
He enjoyed cars and motorcycles, was interest in most sports.
DeWayne was preceded in death by his parents, Jane and Ira Ehrhardt, Aunt Magdeline Brown who took care of him as a young boy.
Family members include his wife, Sharon of the home; two sons, Josh and Cody; cousins, Billie Meyer, Betty & Robert Brooks, Pamela Harvey, Monty Meyer, Malissa Thomason, Heather, Andi, Nikki, Maudie and Marcie.
His timeless generosity and endless kindness he showed to his loved ones, friends and community will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Hooker High School Auditorium with Rev. Chris McFarland officiating. Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma are in charge of the arrangements.
