Dessie N. Augerot Jenkins

Dessie N. Augerot Jenkins, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savoir to the Mansion Over the Hilltop on December 12, 2014.

She was born July 3, 1927 in rural Haskell County, KS, the daughter of Albert and Velma (Printz) Augerot.

She married Roy L. Jenkins on December 21, 1946 at Sublette, KS. He Survives.

Dessie attended Satanta schools and was a graduate of Satanta High School, class of 1944. She attended Business College in Hutchinson, KS where she received her Bookkeepers certificate. In 1967 she went to work for Attorney’s Smith & Greenleaf. She then worked for Seward County where she was a District Court Clerk from 1970-1976. She was also a Bookkeeper from 1990-1997 for Dr. Grimes. Dessie enjoyed family, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, gardening, helping others in need and was a Super Mom! She was a Former Elks Lodge member, a member of the American Legion – Women’s Auxiliary and was also a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.

She is also survived by two daughters- Teresa Jenkins Stevens of Liberal, KS, Sunny Ely Jenkins of Los Banos, CA; two sons- James Jenkins of Tulsa, OK, Ronnie Jenkins of Meade, KS; two granddaughters- Jami M. Jenkins, Sharina Jenkins; two great granddaughters- Addie Jenkins and MacKenzie Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son – Kenneth D. Jenkins, two grandsons, 1 brother and three sisters.

Memorial Service will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Miller Mortuary with Andrew Linder officiating.

The family suggests memorials to American Legion – Women’s Auxiliary in care of Miller Mortuary.
