Dennis Leroy Campbell, 73, a lifelong resident of Hugoton, Kansas passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at his home. Dennis was born October 14, 1951 to the late Curtis James and Wilma May (Newberry) Campbell in Hugoton, Kansas. Dennis attended Hugoton High School and went to work in the oil and gas field before taking over the “Watering Hole” which over time became “DC’s Private Club” and eventually became “Barb’s Den”. Dennis was known for his sharp wit and great sense of humor. He always had a joke and enjoyed making friends and family laugh. Dennis married Barbara Kallenbach on January 25, 1985, at the Methodist Church in Hugoton. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Justin Craig Campbell; two grandsons, Matthew Shedrick and Brett Knisley; four brothers, Jerry Tackett, Curtis Tackett, Jim Campbell, Bob Campbell, and sister Anita Wappes. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara Campbell; children, Veronica Fischer and husband Rick; Stephanie Osier and husband Tim; Chance Campbell and wife Christen; brothers, Mike Campbell; Ron Campbell; sisters, Caroline Reynolds; Pam Adams; grandchildren, Michael Shedrick; Alyssa Bierman; Crystal Fischer; Jesse Fischer; Patty Fischer; Tyler Campbell; Megan Osier; Cambree Cambell; Codee Campbell; Chloee Campbell; great grandchildren, Athena Shedrick; Ryder Fischer; Max Smith; Devon Spivey; Aria Campbell; Killian Campbell; Zarina Shull; one little on the way, and too many nieces, nephews and friends to count. A celebration of Dennis’ life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Bethel Friends Church, 1040 S. Jefferson, Hugoton. with Pastor Chris Stanfield officiating.
