Deborah Barron, age 62, died Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Western Prairie Senior Living in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born April 26, 1961, in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Cresencio E. “Frank” and Sulema (Leal) Barron.
Deborah spent her childhood in Ulysses, Kansas, with her family and lived primarily at 313 S. College St. Throughout the 90’s and early 00’s, Deborah split her time between raising her three sons and traveling the country from vineyards in California to upstate New York. She was an avid lover of country music and 90’s cowboy culture. She loved George Strait, the Price is Right!, and the movie Legends of the Fall. Her favorite pastimes included faith, dancing, and having coffee and laughing with her sisters and mother.
Deborah graduated from Ulysses High School and continued her education at Brown Mackie College in Salina, Kansas. She worked most of her life in hospitality at various hotels. She was recently the office clerk at Mixer Center in Ulysses.
Deborah is survived by her sons, Bene Garcia, Jr. of Ulysses, Jeremy James Garcia of Ulysses, and Joshua Adam Garcia of Ulysses; brothers, Abundio F. Barron and wife Tamera of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Mike Miranda of Wolfforth, Texas; sisters, Diana Olivas and husband, Faby of Ulysses, and Maggie Ledesma and husband Victor of Ulysses; three grandchildren, Helios Garcia, Athena Garcia, and Aurora Garcia; and many nieces and nephews.
Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sulema Barron; sister, Susana Barron; brother, Cresencio E. Barron, Jr.; granddaughter, Thalia Sage Garcia; and grandson, Ares Delencio Garcia.
Rosary will be Friday, October 20, 2023, at 9:30 AM and Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Eric Gyamfi officiating.
