Dawn Michelle Jennings, 46, of Kismet, KS died on Monday October 5, 2020 at Skilled Nursing in Southwest Medical Center. She was born on January 10, 1974 in Las Vegas, NV. She was the daughter of Bill Winter and Linda (Carrier) Winter. 

 

Dawn graduated from Southwestern Heights High School in Kismet, KS is 1992. Then she attended Seward County Community College and through SCCC she attended Kansas Newman Online College to obtain her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Education. She married Jason Jennings of Kismet, KS on June 18, 1994 at the Kismet Methodist Church, he survives. She taught at Kismet Elementary School for 23 years. She loved teaching and she was so proud that not only was she called to become a teacher, she was honored to watch her kids grow and learn and became a very respected and requested teacher. Dawn was also the Momma Bear to Cody and Brittney Jennings. She was continually active attending all the kids sporting events including football, basketball, and cheerleading. Her family will always remember how she loved spending quality time with them whether it was decorating for holidays or going to the lake. 

 

Beloved Mother of Cody and his wife Samantha Jennings of Kismet, KS and Brittney Jennings of Kismet, KS.

Mark (Tessa) West of Liberal, KS

Jeff (Annetta) Ryan of Weatherford, OK

 

Sister in Law:

Barb (Devon) Ryan of Kismet, KS

Preceded in death by her mother and father in law Doyle and Carole Jennings. 

 

Visitation will be Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 9AM – 7PM with family and friends present to greet family from 5-7pm at Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 9, 2020 at 10:00AM at Kismet Methodist Church in Kismet, KS with Pastor Terry Mayhew presiding. Services will be followed by cremation. Inurnment will be Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Kismet Cemetery at 11:00AM.
