Davy Junior Brown was born August 12, 1975, in Liberal, KS to Junior and Martha (Longoria) Brown. He attended Liberal schools graduating in 1993. While in school he was active in sports and band, but he especially excelled in high school art class. He made beautiful award-winning hand-blown glass.
After high school, he moved to Wichita, KS where he became one of the youngest Godfather’s Pizza managers. He moved back to Liberal after his brother was seriously hurt in a work-related accident and to help his aging grandparents. At the age of 20, he followed in his father’s footsteps and began his career in the oilfield. He worked every trade there was in the oilfield and eventually became a Tool Pusher for Titan drilling. In 2004 he met his wife Gage and in 2006 they moved to Beaver, OK. They fell in love with the quiet peaceful town and decided to call it home. He purchased a home and planted his roots with his wife. In 2014 when the rigs went down he decided to make a change and enrolled in the Liberal Area Vo-Tech truck driving school, graduating in 2015 with his CDL. Immediately he went over the road, saw the country, and continued providing for his family. In 2016 he got a dedicated route with National Carriers driving from Garden City, KS to Dodge City, KS. This allowed Davy time to come home on weekends and spend more time with Gage and his beloved dogs Lucy and Bear. He enjoyed many activities throughout his life including being a certified deep-sea diver, and a certified welder, playing roulette, golfing, bowling, and softball, and was a state champion for the Wrestling Federation of America, He especially enjoyed planning activities and trips with his family.
In October 2022 bad health took Davy out of the driver’s seat. Davy passed away on June 10, 2023.
Davy leaves behind his wife Gage, daughter Vail (Buck) Breit, granddaughter Olivia Breit, sister-in-law Sheila Henry, mother Martha Smith, bother Israel Brown, sisters Liberty (Zeus) Gomez, Natasha (Eric) Manzarares, Snow (Chad) Garrison, Uncle George (Aurora) Longoria, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father Junior Brown, stepfather Norman Smith, Grandparents, six uncles, and one aunt.
A private family viewing will be held. A celebration of Davy’s life will be held on August 13, 2023, at Mary Frame Park building in Liberal, KS. Time to be determined.
