He was born on February 25, 1958; the son of Ella (Tucker) Ward at Liberal, KS.
David married Diana Jennings, they later divorced.
David was a graduate of Liberal High School. He had worked at Safeway Grocery and Dillon’s Grocery. David was a very kind & devoted person through his career, his family and community.
He loved basketball & football and spending time with his family & friends debating the outcome.
David is survived by his Daughter, Essence Ester Hammond, of Flint, MI; Three Brothers, Robert Hammond and wife Christine of Liberal, KS, Arthur Hammond of Garden City, KS, and
Gabriel Hammond-Ward and wife Charlotte of Liberal, KS; Two Sisters, Shirley O’Neil of Bay City, Texas and Marcalena McKenzie and husband Leonard of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and former wife, Diana Hammond of Flint, MI.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Ella Mae Ward, Two Brothers, Terry Hammond and Donald Wayne Hammond.
There will be no public viewing as Cremation has taken place..
Memorial Services will be 10:00 am Monday February 10th at The Bibleway Church of God In Christ. Miller Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
