Darvin Lee Patrick, age 66, died suddenly on April 1, 2025, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas. He was born August 22, 1958, in Lamar, Colorado, the son of Allen and Beulah (Miller) Patrick.
Darvin grew up in Lamar, Springfield, and Campo, Colorado, and graduated high school in Stilwell, Oklahoma, in 1976. He married Emma Coonfield in 1978, they had a son and three daughters (2 of whom were adopted). The family moved to Elkhart in 1984. Darvin owned and operated D’s Tires for over 25 years before going to work for Best 1 Tires about 5 ½ years ago to manage their Liberal store. He loved to ride his Harley and to hunt and fish. But his most treasured activity was to spend quality time with family and friends. The never-quite-grown-up kid in Darvin loved to watch cartoons and movies with his kids and grandkids. His favorite pastime was driving around the countryside. The landscapes of the prairie and the solitude provided a peace that can be hard to find in the world today.
Darvin is survived by his son, Shawn Patrick and wife Tina Peet of Wichita; daughter, Erin and husband Clint Forward of Hugoton, Laura and Breann Patrick of Garden City; mother, Beulah Patrick of Elkhart; his significant other, Deanna Labbaf Gray of Elkhart; and siblings, Elveta and husband Luke Bishop of Albuquerque, NM, Kristi Patrick of Elkhart, Bret Patrick of Denver, Jeff Peebler of Denver, Darcy Seaton of Lowell, IN, and Shelley Poteet of Salida, CO; and grandchildren, Arielle Peet, Elizabeth Newmon, Matisyn Newmon, Isabella Newmon, Oliver Forward, Bradley Love, Gage Patrick, and Weston Love. And a plethora of cousins, nephews and nieces who will miss him.
Darvin is preceded in death by his father, Allen Patrick in 1993.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the First Church of God in Elkhart with Pastor James Tower officiating.
