Danny E. Dewell

FOWLER – Danny E. Dewell, age 74, passed away early Saturday morning, November 5, 2022, at the Fowler Residential Care Center, Fowler, Kansas.

He was born March 21, 1948, at Fowler, Kansas, the son of Alden (Duke) and Melva (Heinz) Dewell. Dan grew up in Fowler, graduating from Fowler High School in 1966. He then served in the United States Navy. After his discharge, he returned to the Fowler area for most of his life.

He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed boxing, playing Bingo, writing poetry, going to Wendy’s with his son, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Aubrey Dewell and Jeremy Dewell, both of Dodge City; two brothers, Larry Dewell of Fowler, and Dave Dewell and wife JJ of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a sister, Jo Cox and husband Jeff of Hugoton, Kansas; three nieces; two nephews; a great-niece and nephew; and a great-great-niece and nephew.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Fowler. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday November 11, 2022, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler. Cremation has taken place.

The family would welcome memorials to St. Anthony’s Parish Hall Building Fund or the Fowler Residential Care Center in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
