Danny E. Boyd

Joe Denoyer - September 19, 2024 4:57 pm

Danny E. Boyd, age 73, passed away Monday afternoon, September 16, 2024 in Olathe, Kansas.

He was born November 26, 1950, at Fowler, Kansas, the son of Elvin Leo Boyd and Kathleen Ellen (Tacha) Boyd. As a young boy he attended school in Fowler, graduating from Fowler High School in 1969. After his graduation, he attended Pratt Community College, receiving his Associates degree. He began his career with Kansas Gas Service as a Compressor Station Operator and retired as a Gas Controller. He was a resident of Fowler for fifty-two years before moving to Olathe for the past twenty-one years.

Dan was always quick to tell a great story, whether it was to family members, friends, friends of his sons, or a cashier at the store. He was a beloved neighbor, he was always willing to help anyone. He enjoyed yard work, listening to the police scanner, taking drives, watching his grandchildren play, helping his sons with house projects, attending garage sales, watching Gunsmoke and other westerns, tinkering in his garage, and cheering on the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Royals.

On August 5, 1979, he married Carolyn Kay Gardner in Hartford, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Nicholas James Boyd and wife Mindy (Woods), and Nathan Alan Boyd; a brother, Larry Boyd and wife Sylvia (Huslig); and three grandchildren, Lincoln J. Boyd, Lucas H. Boyd, and Connor K. Baer.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
