Danny “Dan” Darnell Walls

Danny “Dan” Darnell Walls, of Elkhart, Kansas, passed away on May 13, 2023, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Dan was the son of Oliver Perry and Mable Ruth (Bickford) Walls and was born on April 7, 1958, in Lamar, Colorado, where he graduated from high school. He went on to further his education by obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Animal Science from Lamar Community College. During high school, he was a member of the Future Farmers of America and was a self-taught guitar player.

As an adult, Danny worked as an oilfield mechanic for both Panhandle Eastern and Anadarko Petroleum, demonstrating his hard-working abilities in all that he did. Danny was a loving, caring, and selfless man who enjoyed taking his children on Sunday jeep rides to the Wilburton River. His humor made the days more enjoyable, and he was always thoughtful. His skills included carpentry, leatherworking, hunting, and gardening, and he enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family while building their family home.

Dan is survived by his wife, Marita Walls; son Kirk Walls of Elkhart, Kansas; son James Walls and his wife, Lindsay of Marrero, Louisiana; daughter Lindsey White and her husband Kendrick of Elkhart, Kansas; granddaughter, Lillie Walls; and sister Sherry Walls of Ignacio, Colorado; sister-in-law, Nita Walls, in Wiley, CO.; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Tammy Romine, Kent and Valerie Romine, Great Bend, KS., Paul Schneweis; and many other relatives and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Perry and Mable Ruth (Bickford) Walls; his brothers, Jeffery, Monty, and Randy Walls; sister-in-law, Brenda Walls; father and mother-in-law, James and Rita Walls; sister-in-law, Renee Schneweis.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Danny, held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday, May 22, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Robson Funeral Home, 120 Grant Street, Elkhart.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at First Church of God, Elkhart, Kansas, with Pastor Terrell Giddens and Pastor Jerry Ryman presiding. Burial to follow at Elkhart Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morton County Ambulance Service in the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 606, Elkhart, Kansas 67950.
