Dallas Jack Bartley

Dallas Jack Bartley 80, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, KS.

He was born July 25, 1930 in Rolla, KS the son of Kyle and Nellie (Miller) Bartley.

He had been a resident of Liberal, KS for 76 years.

He was a truck driver, working for Blakemore Brothers, Ideal Foods, Allied Supermarkets and Nash Finch, for 36 years, before retiring. He then drove for Amigo Ranch for 5 years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, but had attended the First Presbyterian Church with his wife for 12 years. He was member of the Democratic Party.

He served in the Kansas National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves from 1948-1957.

On August 10, 1962, he married Sammy Ruth Davis in Guymon, OK. She survives.

1 Sister Dorothy Saffeels Arvada, CO

2 Nephews Curtis Saffeels and wife Sandie Bailey, CO

Sam Prather and wife Patricia Los Gatos, CA.

Great Niece Shannon Edison and husband Jeremy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother-in law Curtis Saffeels and Niece Jani Freer.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 16th, at First Presbyterian Church, Liberal, KS, with Dr. Stephen Saville presiding. Burial will be held at Liberal Cemetery.

Visitation time will be held 9:00 am – 8:00 pm Tuesday with the family present from 6 – 7:30 pm to greet friends at Brenneman Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church or American Cancer Society in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
