Curtis Ray Houser Jr., age 40, of Johnson, Kansas died Sunday, December 28, 2014 in Johnson, Kansas. He was born March 4, 1974 in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Curtis Ray and Barbara Ann (Schweizer) Houser.
Curtis was a lifetime resident of Stanton County. He worked for Stanton County Road and Bridge Department for 17 years. He was also a softball umpire for Stanton County Recreation. Curtis loved bowling, and was on a bowling league for several years. He was also an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Curtis John “CJ” Houser of Johnson, Kansas; daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Houser of Turpin, Oklahoma; parents, Curtis and Barbara Houser of Johnson, Kansas; sister, Michelle Perez and husband Juan of Johnson, Kansas, grandmother, Geneva Schweizer of Walsh, Colorado; one nephew, one niece, two great-nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Curtis is preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl Schweizer, and Cy and Marie Houser.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church in Johnson, Kansas with Pastor Kurt Rovenstine officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
