Curtis E. Beer, 71, of El Dorado, Kansas passed away on January 26, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Curtis Ephraim Beer was born on February 11, 1943 at Hooker, OK; the son of Charlie and Minta (Dain) Beer. He was a graduate from Panhandle State and Southwest Oklahoma State University with a Master’s Degree in Education. Curt was an administrator and middle school principal in Liberal for many years. He was a member of the Kansas Middle School Administrators Association.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Cruzan on June 2, 1962 at the First Christian Church in Guymon, OK. Curt loved his family deeply and his greatest joy was being a part of their lives. He was a gardener, growing all types of flowers and trees and enjoyed keeping his yard looking nice.

His loving family includes his wife, Dorothy Beer of El Dorado; sons: Todd Beer and wife, Leah of Leedey, OK and Rodd Beer and wife, Jennifer of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren: Tobey (Brett) Nightingale of Sapulpa, OK, Tatum (Ryan) Ridling of Sentinel, OK, Tate and Taber Beer, both of Leedey, OK, Baylee Beer and Braeden Beer, both of Edmond, OK; great grandchildren: Camden and Wrigley Nightingale and Bracket Ridling; and his brothers and sisters: Jerome and Gerald Beer, Theresa Stoddard, Janet Landess, and Katherine Roseber.

He was preceded in death by a brother Rodney Beer and his parents.

His family will gather with friends on Friday 5-8 p.m. at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, 224 W. Ash in El Dorado, KS. Funeral services will be held at the El Dorado First Baptist Church on Saturday, January 31st at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Wade Graber.

Graveside services will be Monday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon, OK with Pastor Herb Bridgewater officiating. Local services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
